David Alexander in Nature Method 5 May 2013

Alumnus David Alexander co-authored Nature Methods article "Nonhybrid, finished microbial genome assemblies from long-read SMRT sequencing data". They have created a technology that for the first time enables researchers to isolate a pathogen and quickly get a completely accurate picture of its genome (a "closed" and "finished" quality genome assembly sequence).
